Chris Allen, Bass Trombone
Chris Allen is a trombonist/bass trombonist residing in White Bear Lake, MN.
​He has completed two years of graduate work at the University of Minnesota, and was a Grove Fellow during his time there. He graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2014 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with honors in performance.
Chris' primary teachers include Thomas Ashworth (University of Minnesota), Scott Moore (Gustavus Adolphus College), and Larry Zimmerman (Gustavus Adolphus College). He has taken additional lessons with Douglas Wright (Minnesota Orchestra), Henry Charles Smith III, Michael Levine (Dallas Brass), and Achilles Liarmakopoulos (Canadian Brass). He has also participated in masterclasses with Randall Hawes, and Dr. Terry Leahy.
He is a member of the Mankato Symphony, The Paperclips, and Metro Brass. Chris has also had opportunities to perform with fine ensembles in the area including; Compass Rose Brass Ensemble, Sheldon Theatre Brass Band, Encore Wind Ensemble, Minnesota Jazz Orchestra, and Kenwood Symphony, among others. Chris has also performed as a guest soloist with the Minnesota Freedom Band, and the bands at the South Campus in White Bear Lake.
