Paul Gronert, Baritone Saxophone

Paul Gronert is a saxophonist and music educator in the Twin Cities area. Paul holds degrees from the Lawrence University Conservatory of Music and Michigan State University where he studied with Andrew Speight, Branford Marsalis and Rodney Whitaker. While at Lawrence University he won the MTNA National Chamber Music Competition as a member of the Lawrence University Saxophone Quartet.

 

Paul is a former President of the Minnesota Band Directors Association and currently sits on the board of the Minnesota Youth Symphony. Paul played his first paid gig with Alex Chilton and the Boxtops while in college and has performed with a number of groups including 3 Minute Hero, Kubla Khan, The Jack Brass Band, and has been the alto/bari sax player in the Belfast Cowboys for the last 20 years.
